Meet Maverick, the adorable winner of our 2024 Hugs & Smiles Photo Contest! Maverick and his family are cherished members of the Hydrocephalus Canada community, and we are deeply grateful to them for sharing a glimpse of their inspiring journey. Diagnosed with Myelomeningocele (Spina Bifida), Hydrocephalus, and Chiari Malformation, Maverick has faced numerous challenges in his young life.

Stephanie Rogers shares, “Maverick was diagnosed with Myelomeningocele (Spina Bifida), Hydrocephalus, and Chiari Malformation! He is now 2 and doesn’t let anything hold him back! He has overcome many obstacles and continues to try and conquer new struggles. He’s the truest definition of a warrior.” Maverick’s resilience and determination shine brightly, proving that nothing can hold him back. As we celebrate Maverick’s achievements, we are reminded of the incredible strength and courage that define our community.
