TROY'S TRAIL 2024 - Walk-tastic Finish!

Troy and Annette Chandler are passionate about raising awareness of hydrocephalus – the chronic condition that impacts the brain. Affecting anyone from unborn babies to older adults, the condition can lead to challenges with movement, memory and learning as well as headaches, seizure and incontinence. Left untreated, hydrocephalus can be fatal.
Troy was diagnosed with hydrocephalus in 1994 at the age of 28. “Troy and I believe that hydrocephalus was given to us for a reason, and we felt that it was our “calling” to make the most of it.” Annette Chandler
The Chandler’s launched Troy’s Trail in 2012 as a way to raise awareness about hydrocephalus and spina bifida, and to let it be known that there are others here to lend help and support.
“Whenever the need arises, there is always someone here to lean on and to talk to so they do NOT have to face it alone. Our informal network of group support is available all year, but this one day brings us all together and keeps us connected. It gives us all a sense of belonging.” The Chandlers

Troy’s Trail annual event brings people together in Sault Ste. Marie to raise awareness and funds for Hydrocephalus Canada. This inspiring community event has raised more than $30,000 to support the programs and services the Association provides to people locally and across the country.
