Safehaven is offering FREE RESPITE FOR TORONTO FAMILIES from January 1st to March 31st 2014 and FREE RESPITE FOR YORK, SIMCOE AND DURHAM REGION FAMILIES from February 1st to March 31st 2014.

Safehaven's Mission: To provide exceptional residential and respite care to families whose children have complex physical and developmental disabilities. Respite is provided in Toronto, North York, Etobicoke, Woodbridge & Aurora to children under18 years of age. Most Safehaven children cannot walk, talk, see or hear.

Safehaven’s Respite Program Offers:

  • Caring, skilled staff trained to help your child
  • 1 staff to 2 children
  • Home cooked meals meeting a child’s dietary and cultural requirements
  • Flexible respite bookings up to three weeks per year
  • Community outings
  • Snoezelen room
  • Continued attendance at school
  • Emphasis on family involvement
  • Family events

Licensing and Funding: Safehaven is funded by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services (MCYS) and the
                                       Ministry of Community and Social Services (MCSS). Safehaven is licensed under The
                                       Child and Family Services Act.
