On Monday, May 29, SB&H hosted our 12th Annual Charity Golf Challenge at Cardinal Golf Club in Newmarket. While the weather threatened early in the morning, it cleared up just in time for the golf start time and remained ideal until all the players left the course for the reception and dinner.

Talk about perfect timing! Sincere thanks to all the players, sponsors and donors who supported this fun filled event. Approximately $20,000 was raised for SB&H programs and services!

SB&H Board Member Eric Smith of Sportsnet 590TheFan did his usual fantastic job emceeing the dinner and live auction. We are grateful to Eric for once again taking the time to make sure he played a few holes with everyone throughout the day, and for keeping the evening flowing with his sense of humour and “auctioneer” skills.

A special thank you as well to Kirsten & Rindy from the Teaching Awareness Through Puppetry (TAP) program. They were kind enough to attend the dinner and speak for a few minutes on how the TAP program goes into schools and teaches kids about spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
Congratulations to the following contest winners:

Matthew McGrade- Men’s Longest Drive
Kathy McGrade- Women’s Longest Drive
Pat McGrade- Closest to the Pin
Erin Garson-  Most Pledges

Hats off to Adriana & Claudio Cinapri who completed 154 holes to win the Most Holes played contest. Well done!
