Dr. Kulkarni obtained his MD degree in 1994 and his neurosurgery certification in 2002. He joined the Division of Neurosurgery at Sick Kids in 2003. Dr. Kulkarni is currently an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Toronto and a scientist at the Sick Kids Research Institute.
His research interest is in the area of clinical epidemiology, specifically the study of long-term health outcomes in pediatric neurosurgical patients. He completed his PhD in 2003 in the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McMaster University where his thesis led to the development of the first health status outcome measure for use in pediatric hydrocephalus.
